Praise & Worship Mass

Dear Friends,

With great joy I announce to you the commencement of a new English Praise and Worship Mass at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the Arts District each Sunday at 5:30 p.m., beginning on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, 2013.

With this Mass, I hope to reach out in a particular way to the rapidly growing and uniquely influential young Catholic professional population living and working in Downtown and Uptown Dallas, as well as to engage all the young men and women who represent the youthful face of the Church in the heart of the city.

I am inviting this demographic to be the principle collaborators in the various liturgical ministries of the Church. They will be the music ministers, altar servers, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, ministers of hospitality, lectors, etc... If you are a young adult in your 20s, 30s or 40s and would like to take part in any of these ministries or know someone who would, please feel free to contact me. I am reachable at rgarcia@cathedralguadalupe.org.

While the Mass will be ministered by young adults, we most assuredly and enthusiastically welcome people of all ages and from all walks of life, and families wishing to experience a vibrant, uplifting and engaging— yet reverent—Mass in the heart of the thriving metropolis.

It is said that the Church is “ever ancient and ever new”. My hope is that this new Praise and Worship Mass led by Young Catholic Professionals and Young Adults will give face to this beautiful expression. And my prayer is that this Mass—like every other Mass anywhere—will be an occasion for powerfully encountering the living God, growing in friendship with Jesus Christ, being empowered by the Holy Spirit to go out and transform the world for good and being of service to our brothers and sisters, especially the poor and most vulnerable, until “Christ be all in all”.

Please join me in praying for the success of this endeavor. And please consider joining us at the Cathedral for this Mass or any of the other beautiful Masses celebrated here.

I look forward to seeing and welcoming you!

God bless,

Father Rudy Garcia
